BIJOU BRIDE OF THE MONTH MOLLIE

A little late, but without further ado, our November Bride of the Month, Mollie

Wedding Date: August 19, 2017

The Dress: Maggie Sottero Designs Montgomery from Bijou Bridal & Special Occasion - Paramus, NJ customized and made strapless by our seamstresses

The Venue: Old Tappan Manor

Their Story: My husband Kaedyi and I met in high school at the Bergen County Academies in Hackensack, NJ. Even though we were a year apart in school, we had mutual friends in common and we got to know each other. We started dating my sophomore year and his junior year, and have been together ever since! We had no idea when we first started dating that a high school relationship would last through college/grad school and end with us getting married many years later. In the summer of 2016 we went on vacation to Greece. While we were sitting on a terrace enjoying the sunset, he got down on one knee and proposed. Of course I said yes! We spent the next few weeks searching for venues all over New Jersey before finding the Old Tappan Manor and spent the next year planning all the wedding details.

Interesting/Fun Facts About the Wedding:
Incorporating both of our cultures into our wedding was important to us. I was raised Jewish and Kaedyi's family is Taiwanese. So, we were married by my hometown Rabbi and also had a Chinese tea ceremony before our traditional wedding ceremony.

Dress Shopping Advice for Other Brides?
Don't be afraid to make a dress into your dream dress. I had seen a dress at another store that I liked but didn't love. When I went to Bijou I showed the attendant a picture and she helped me pick out dresses that were similar. In the end, they worked with me to completely change the top of a dress from a cap sleeve to the strapless gown that I was looking for. I couldn't have found a better team of people to help me create my dream dress. From the attendant, to the seamstress, to the management, I couldn't have been happier to have found my dress at Bijou!
