Something Old, Something New....

We all buy into the hype when new trends surface in the fashion world, however I'm always a sucker for old trends that make a comeback. These days lace sleeves have definitely made their way back into the bridal world and it looks like they are here to stay! What I love about this trend is that it is classic, elegant, and timeless.Brides won't look back and say "Gosh, what was I thinking?" I mean, come on, we are all still oohing and aahing over Grace Kelly's jaw droppng lace sleeve ball gown from her marriage to Prince Rainier III in 1956! When old meets new, it can only get better! Kate Middleton's stunning wedding gown by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen, preserves the same timeless elegance and look of Princess Grace's gown while adding a modern twist l(owering the neckline and using a more updated lace and fabric). For the non traditional and fashion conscious bride, you can still incorporate sleeves into your gown without looking "old fashioned" or too conservative, as seen on Kim Karadashian in her recent marriage to Kanye West.

Here are a few ways you can get the look!
All lace fit and flare with scalloped neckline and sleeves by Casablanca Bridal (available Fall 2014 at select Bijou Bridal locations)
Watters all lace illusion neck, low back fit and flare with sleeves (available for sample loans at select Bijou Bridal locations)
Martina Liana sweetheart neck ball gown with off the shoulder lace sleeves (available for sample loans at select Bijou Bridal locations)

For brides who fall in love with a strapless gown but prefer to have a sleeve: Try these detachable lace jackets by Justin Alexander to complete the look!
