Bijou Bride of the Month (October): Lindsay

Venue: St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Wilmington, DE and reception at Cavaliers Country club

Their Story: "My husband’s name is Phil and we have known each other for 13 years. We work at the same accounting firm, and I still remember the first day we met when I started…I sat in front of him and he was so nice to the “new girl.” We had a connection right away, but given our working relationship, we kept our true feelings at bay over the years (well, somewhat ;) ). We were very close over the years, and decided to go out together one night, in early December 2014. That night I just knew, we were supposed to be together, and from then on were pretty much inseparable. Phil proposed to me on Friday, July 22, 2016 and I was so surprised! We were supposed to go out to dinner that night and at the last minute he said he wasn't feeling well and wouldn't be able to come over. He showed up at my house 20 minutes later with 2 dozen roses, he got down on one knee in the middle of my living room and asked me to be his wife. I was beyond ecstatic and of course said YES! We spent the next 11 months planning every detail of our wedding together, we had so much fun. We knew, no matter what, we were marrying each other that day and it was going to be perfect. I was marrying my other half...the sweetest, funniest, most caring and loving man and we are so happy to be spending the rest of our lives with each other."

Interesting/Fun Facts About the Wedding:"we picked June since we love the summer, it's typically not too hot yet, and it is outside of our busy season at work, as we are both accountants. We initially were planning on 6/17/17 since that date seemed neat, but when Cavaliers was booked that day, we decided on the next Saturday, the 24th. What ended up being kinda cool about our date is that we have decided to eat the top of our wedding cake at 6 months instead of waiting a year, so we're going to eat it on Christmas Eve, which will be fun!"

Dress Shopping Advice for Other Brides?

"Keep an open mind when selecting dresses to try on - types that you you never thought you'd like may end up looking great on you! Also, Bijou was great at recommending trying on ~10 dresses at my appointment. It made me not so overwhelmed. And in the end, trust yourself - when you try on the perfect dress, you'll just get this feeling and know that's the one!"
