Wedding Gown Countdown

November and December account for more than 25% of marriage proposals for the year. When January and February come around and the excitement of showing off your new bling to family and friends wears off, its time to think about one of the most important things: Your wedding dress.Our salons get the opportunity to work with thousands of brides a year. Some brides start very early, sometimes 2 years in advance, other brides wait till the very last minute to purchase their gown.Our advice to the Bride is: There is no such thing as shopping too early– well, just make sure youre engaged first!

;

;Start shopping 12+ months before your wedding.

This is your first time shopping for a bridal gown and it can be a little overwhelming at first. Booking appointments at the top boutiques can be difficult as weekend appointments start filling up months in advance. Many brides find their dreams gowns in wedding magazines, only to realize the silhouette doesnt necessary fit their body shape. Shopping early can help you get a better sense of what you want in your dream gown and what silhouette fits you best. One last thing to keep in mind, manufacturers release gowns twice a year, but they also discontinue gowns. Brides may find ‘the gown and come back months later to order it only to find out its been discontinued. If you find the gown of your dreams,our advice is to order it.

;Plan to order your gown 8 to 12 months before your wedding.

;This may seem like a long time, but it flies by in the bridal world. Most bridal gowns take approximately 4-6 months for delivery and some even up to a year (time differs based on designer). With 4 to 6 months left, make an appointment with your bridal shop to try on the sample or your gown if it has arrived with a veil and accessories. You will need the veil and any headpieces for your hair trial so make sure you order in time.

;Only 1 to 2 months left, the time has finally arrived for your 1st dress fitting!

Make sure you have the necessary shoes and undergarments for your fitting. Also, make sure to inform your seamstress of any special requests or custom changes ahead of time.

;A week or two before the wedding and its time for your final fitting.

Your dress should be tailored perfectly with only minor adjustments necessary. Have someone attend the fitting so that they can learn your bustle and help you get dressed on the day of your wedding.

;Your gown will be perfectly pressed and packaged a couple days before your big day.

Make sure to have a cleared back seat so that your gown can lay flat for transport.

;The day of your wedding is here and youre the most beautiful bride. No more planning.

Let loose & enjoy your day!
